Is the export of national cultural products and services - in most European countries subsidized by the taxpayer - still relevant, a huge waste of money, or an attempt to create another form of globalization? Culture - in its broadest sense - is very often facing a completely different form of perception and acceptance than internationally traded goods. This might be one of the reasons why so many institutions and foundations invest time, power, and money in cultural projects. Is this an overestimated approach or an intelligent recognition of the true values of the 21st Century - creativity and cultural sensitiveness? These and several other questions on the export of culture will be addressed by practitioners, politicians and experts from different scientific fields and countries.
