This publication was produced by the project partners from Germany, Italy and India within a three-year project named ``Cultural Dimensions in Digital Multimedia and Security Technology (CultureTech)'' realized in the framework of the EU-India Economic Cross Cultural Programme (ECCP).
The fundamental goal of the project was the promotion of links, the fusion of knowledge and the establishment of a durable open network between university media departments and non-profit associated partners from different cultural origin in respect to an interdisciplinary scientific area, bordered by technical, legal and cultural domains.
The focus of the project research concentrated mainly on integration of partner's research results and education concepts in the domains of Digital Rights Management, Authentication of Media Data and Biometric User Authentication. The research integration especially concentrated on the technologies for cultural heritage, for biometrics user authentication, for media protection and authentication, for multimedia database management and on the related legal and cultural implications.
The main goal of the book is to spread a selection of the achieved results with regard to multimedia technologies, to their legal implications, and to the related intercultural issues.
